Pediatric Dietitian

We're Hiring: Pediatric Dietitian!

We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Pediatric Dietitian to provide specialized nutrition care for infants, children, and adolescents. This Pediatric Dietitian will provide medical nutrition therapy and counseling across a pediatric population. This role supports various outpatient programs as well as inpatient nutrition coverage within a leading children’s hospital.

Location: Baltimore, MD

Role: Pediatric Dietitian - Travel Assignment

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (5x8 - Hour Shifts)

Remote Flexibility: 1 remote day per week (optional)

First-time travelers accepted

What You'll Do

• Assess patients' nutritional status
• Develop appropriate medical nutrition therapy care plans
• Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients and caregivers
• Document recommendations for treatment in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR) per facility policy (Meditech required)
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and families to ensure the appropriate nutrition care plan is implemented and followed
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds with medical, nursing, and rehab staff
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members
• Perform duties and responsibilities for both designated inpatients and ambulatory care patients
• Function as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate patient nutrition care plans
• Comply with all hospital-wide and departmental policies and procedures
  
  

Education Requirements

What We're Looking For:

• Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field
• Completion of required coursework, Dietetic Internship, and successful passing of the CDR exam
• If CDR exam passed prior to 1/1/24: A Bachelor’s degree with completed coursework and internship is acceptable
  
  

Licensure & Certifications

• Required:
• Active Maryland Dietitian Licensure (or Compact License if applicable)
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) credential
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association only)

Preferred Experience

• Experience in:
• Teaching or Community Hospital settings
• Pediatric Rehabilitation Facilities
• Travel experience not required
