Position Title: ProcurementAssociate

Reporting into Title: Director of Supply Chain

Business and Department: VPC LLC

Position Purpose/Summary: The Procurement Associate demonstrates strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills, ensuring efficient and accurate administrative and transactional record-keeping.

Position Responsibilities-Tasks-Deliverables

All duties as assigned and the following specific activities.

  • Receive and review purchase requests for non-inventory items, confirming purchasing authority limits and management approvals.
  • Enter purchase orders in Navision ERP system using correct vendors, coding, delivery dates, etc.
  • Submission of purchase orders to suppliers.
  • Follow up on receipt of supplies and services.
  • Work with Accounts Payable personnel and vendors to resolve any discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices received.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor when responding to suppliers and colleagues.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Timely processing of purchase requests.
  • Correct General Ledger coding of purchase lines.
  • Timely follow up related to receipts.

Qualifications

Knowledge-Skills-Abilities

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Experience

  • 0-2 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Confidence and ability to work independently.
  • Knows how to organize priorities and shift attention as needed.
  • Able to produce or edit data in worksheet format.
  • Quick learner with exceptional information retention.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Technology/Software

  • Proficiency with MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook

Communication

  • Capable to utilize listening, reading, writing, and speaking so as to interact via email and telephone for inquiries and response.

Physical Capabilities

Strength (lifting, dexterity, repetitive motion): Able to sustain periods of time typing and sitting at a desktop.

Movement (standing, stopping, sitting, crouching, crawling): Sitting for long periods of time.

Hearing (loud noise tolerance, quiet work area, public speaking, receive work direction): generally a quiet work environment; may be exposed to production or warehouse activity on occasion.

Vision (judge distance, read signs, extended computer work, identify details): Extended computer work.
