This is a direct hire, full-time onsite position based in Jamaica, NY.


Position Overview

SGL is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Internal Sales and Customer Service Representative to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the sales team, maintaining strong relationships with existing clients, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction through clear communication and effective problem-solving.

Job Duties

  • Assist the sales team in managing customer accounts, processing orders, and providing service information.
  • Prepare and send quotes, invoices, and sales documentation.
  • Follow up with clients on quotes and sales inquiries.
  • Monitor and track sales performance, generating reports and insights as needed.
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, in a timely and professional manner.
  • Handle customer complaints, returns, and service requests, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
  • Assist in managing customer databases, updating contact details, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve customer issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Accurately input and track customer orders in the internal system.
  • Ensure accuracy in order details, pricing, and delivery information.
  • Liaise with operation and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of customer orders.
  • Act as a key point of contact between customers and the company, ensuring excellent communication.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding customer preferences and sales opportunities.
  • Assist in scheduling meetings, organizing sales events, and managing agendas for the sales team.
  • Prepare sales reports, presentations, and customer service metrics for internal use.

Education And Experience

  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, or a related field is an advantage but not required.
  • Freight industry experience preferred, however, we are open to training the right candidate.
  • Experience in freight forwarding operations processes and procedures.
  • Experience of bonded freight and cargo.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree is a plus).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude, eager to learn, and customer-focused.

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 Per Hour
