Job Description

As a Quantitative Research Intern, you will support the Strategy & Research team in developing data-driven insights that inform commercial real estate investment decisions. This role offers hands-on experience in applied quantitative research, statistical modeling, and portfolio analytics. You will contribute to the development of tools and processes that enhance the company’s ability to evaluate market trends, optimize portfolio performance, and identify predictive signals. This internship is designed for students with strong analytical skills and a desire to apply quantitative methods in a real-world investment context.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the use of statistical models and analytical tools to support investment decision-making
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and early indicators of market performance
  • Contribute to the design and refinement of time series forecasting and ranking models across property types and regions
  • Support the creation of tools that evaluate portfolio risk, diversification, and performance
  • Help streamline research workflows by supporting automation efforts and collaborating with engineering teams
  • Prepare research summaries, visualizations, and presentations to communicate findings to investment professionals
  • Participate in ad hoc research initiatives and contribute to broader team objectives

Qualifications

  • Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple-worthy
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or finance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solid understanding of statistical concepts
  • Experience with Python and data science libraries such as pandas, numpy, or scikit-learn
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively
  • Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and collaborative mindset
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Databricks (preferred)
  • Interest in real estate, financial markets, or portfolio optimization (preferred)
