In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Dental Director will be responsible for monitoring and improving the level of care provided to TCCH patients. The Dental Director (in conjunction with the Site Managers) is also responsible for participant care, clinical outcomes, and the implementation and oversight of the quality assessment and performance improvement program. This individual will work closely with the site management team to implement strategies that enhance patient care further the organizations mission, vision, and values.

Essential Functions

  • Provide dental direction and administration including but not limited to, developing clinical practice guidelines.
  • Supervise dentist and hygienist; performing quality assurance activities.
  • Participate and direct provider and dental care team meetings.
  • Establish linkage with pharmacy, medical, and community referral entities, social support resources to improve and expand the scope of services available through community referrals.
  • Work with TCCH business, medical, dental, pharmacy, and behavioral medicine managers to address mutual concerns.
  • Establish positive relationships with local community.
  • Chair Credentialing Committee.
  • Develop and maintain a provider onboarding and mentoring/supervision program.
  • Oversee the development of all clinical initiatives.
  • Lead clinical teams to improve clinical outcome measures.
  • Evaluate and conduct clinical peer reviews.
  • Ensure dentist and hygienists meet productivity expectations.
  • Collaborate with the site managers to steer the quality program.
  • Collaborate with the site managers to ensure support staff is adequately trained and competent.

Requirements

Minimum Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited dental school with evidence of any specialty training, if applicable.

Minimum Work Experience

  • Experience in a dental setting desirable.
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience
  • Ability to perform dentistry under the guidelines of federal and state laws and knowledge of Diagnostic Codes and pricing

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • Must have a current WA State Dental license
  • Must have a current DEA license
  • Must have/obtain current CPR Certification within 3 months of hire date.
