What you will be doing

The Infection Prevention & Quality Compliance Manager works closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and assists in the implementation of the Upjohn Care Center’s core programs. This role helps maintain resident care records and supervises the orientation and training of nursing staff related to infection prevention and compliance concerns, ensuring high-quality care and adherence to facility standards. The Infection Prevention & Quality Compliance Manager is responsible for leading the infection prevention program.

  • Reassign nursing staff as needed to meet facility and patient care requirements.
  • Prepare written evaluations of assigned employees (licensed nursing staff)
  • Enforce facility policies and procedures, including corrective actions and, when necessary, suspension for rule violations.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, directing, supervising, and evaluating all nursing services provided in the facility to achieve desired clinical and financial outcomes.
  • Obtains and maintains the status of Infection Preventionist and manages the Infection Control Program for the facility.
  • Assists with the Wound Prevention and Reporting program for the facility.
  • Assists with the Fall Prevention Program for the facility.
  • Maintain the infection prevention program in compliance with all regulations
  • Conduct ongoing surveillance, data collection, and trend analysis of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and antimicrobial use.
  • Lead outbreak investigations and implement control measures in collaboration with medical staff and public health agencies.
  • Direct and coordinate the facility’s QAPI program to ensure compliance with CMS regulations and organizational goals
  • Develop performance improvement projects (PIPs) targeting high-risk, high-volume, or problem-prone areas.
  • Monitor, analyze, and present quality indicator data, resident outcomes, and survey readiness reports to leadership and governing body
  • Ensure facility readiness for state and federal surveys in infection control, QAPI, and related areas

About You

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (preferred)
  • Be a qualified Infection Preventionist through an approved training program (i.e. CDC Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Training) or complete one within 30 days of hire
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
