Position Overview

The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and shop equipment in a manufacturing environment. This position ensures all systems and machinery operate efficiently and safely while supporting preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain production and shop equipment in satisfactory condition under the direction of the Equipment Maintenance Manager.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment faults.
  • Perform scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities as required to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Document all repairs, parts usage, and PMs in the CMMS or similar maintenance software.
  • Install, align, and calibrate mechanical and electrical components as needed.
  • Use precision tools such as calipers, multimeters, and alignment devices for diagnostics.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate’s degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, electronics, or related field.
  • Equivalent experience, military training, or vocational education may be considered.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, or electromechanical maintenance in a manufacturing or field service environment preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a manufacturing equipment or field technician.
  • Strong understanding of PLCs, sensors, VFDs, motors, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong troubleshooting and logical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Detail-oriented and safety-conscious.

Technology Stack:

  • CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
  • PLC equipment and diagnostic software
  • Electrical and mechanical diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, calipers)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
  • Must be able to stand for 10-hour shifts.
  • Work performed in a production plant environment with exposure to electrical hazards, noise, and temperature variations.
  • May require working at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Use of appropriate PPE in designated areas is mandatory
