Job Scope
The PM2 plans, scopes, and executes medium-to-large New Product projects with moderate to high risk. They lead cross-functional teams to meet project objectives, including implementation, ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality align with portfolio goals. The PM2 serves as liaison between business and technical functions, plans project stages, assesses business impacts, and monitors progress to meet deadlines, standards, and cost targets.

Job Scope
The PM2 plans, scopes, and executes medium-to-large New Product projects with moderate to high risk. They lead cross-functional teams to meet project objectives, including implementation, ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality align with portfolio goals. The PM2 serves as liaison between business and technical functions, plans project stages, assesses business impacts, and monitors progress to meet deadlines, standards, and cost targets.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead Core Teams to achieve objectives, meet deadlines, and clearly communicate roles, expectations, and accountabilities.
- Manage 1–7 medium-to-large projects, ensuring delivery on cost, scope, schedule, and quality.
- Partner with Program Manager to secure necessary resources and skills.
- Build and maintain accurate project schedules with input from stakeholders.
- Define and manage project scope throughout the lifecycle, including scope changes.
- Conduct regular internal and customer status meetings, costing reviews, closeouts, and post-launch reviews.
- Drive risk management planning and mitigation.
- Follow established Phase/Gate processes and lead reviews, ensuring deliverable integrity.
- Ensure completion of Design History File deliverables per Quality Management Systems.
- Facilitate labs for customer preference, design review, and product validation.
- Identify and address cross-functional skill gaps and team challenges.
- Report project status and escalate issues to leadership as needed.
- Capture and share lessons learned to improve best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field plus 5–8 years’ experience; PMP preferred. OR PMP + 8–10 years’ experience in lieu of degree.
- Proven NPI project management in regulated, engineered durable goods (e.g., medical devices, defense, high tech).
- Experience managing internal and external stakeholders and customers.
- Knowledge of ISO and FDA regulations preferred.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple projects on scope, schedule, and budget.
- Experience with gated project processes and cross-functional leadership in a matrix environment.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving, and escalation skills.
- Working knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and medical device design principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project required; experience with WBS tools, online collaboration, and ERP data extraction preferred.
