How You'll Contribute
A Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Peer Specialist who excels in this role:
- Provide service coordination (case management) for assigned consumers in the community (outside of traditional office settings.) and provide on-call crisis coverage.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide ongoing monitoring of mental illness symptoms.
- Act as liaison and consult with community agencies and families to maintain coordination in the treatment process.
- Coordinates immediately with psychiatric inpatient service providers when indicated to ensure that lengths of stay are utilized most appropriately and take a lead role in rehabilitation services. Coordinate with outside services when detoxification is necessary and establish linkage to outpatient self-help programs and residential facilities.
- Provide individual and group substance use counseling.
- Provide ongoing assessment, problem solving, skills training, supervision, and environmental adaptations to assist clients with activities of daily living (ADL's).

What we're looking for
- High School Diploma or equivalent, or combination of education and expeience required for the job.
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology or related field preferred. High School Diploma required
- 1+ years
- One (1) year of training in substance abuse assessment and treatment or at least One (1) year of supervised experience and 40 hours of training in substance abuse treatment.Experience in mental health evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation given strong preference
- BCLS upon completion of hospital orientation
- Must have/obtain a current Washington State Driver License with reliable personal transportation and Liability Insurance. Substance Use Disorder Professional License or Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee in Washington State preferred
- Bilingual and/or English Spanish speaking preferred and ability to work with culturally diverse population.
- Must have a clear understanding of the characteristics and problems of adults with severe mental illnesses and knowledge of the PACT model.Must have and maintain a cell phone to use for business purposes.
