Job Description Summary

Drives initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the Engineering function and interfaces with other functions to provide effective coordination of metrics, dashboards, functional processes, and cross-functional initiative coordination. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Process tracking, metrics tracking. Could be degreed or non-degreed. Responsible for headcount and various other data collections that are used for ultimate decision making
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • The Maintenance Planning Leader reports to the Operations Manager. They are responsible for establishing and continuously maintaining FAA approved maintenance programs for all FTO aircraft to satisfy the requirements of 14 CFR Parts 91 and 145.
  • Ensure that all technical data is secured and kept current with the latest revisions and made available to all employees.
  • Ensure that all inspections and other maintenance/ preventive maintenance activities are accomplished in accordance with the approved maintenance plan or FAA inspection requirements.
  • Ensure that all maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alteration within the repair station activity is conducted in accordance with acceptable or approved data noted above or 14 CFR Part 43.
  • Work with the Airworthiness and Quality Assurance Leader to ensure that a current file of pertinent CFRs, specifications, type certification data sheets and Airworthiness Directives is maintained.
  • Ensure close coordination with Quality to assure appropriate documentation is maintained.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports pertinent to maintenance schedules.
  • Develop work packages and task cards from technical data in compliance with FAA and internal quality standards for Routine and Non-Routine maintenance.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals by estimating labor, material and tooling required for on aircraft and shop tasks.
  • Assist in the maintenance of historical data and perform research on aircraft undergoing maintenance or repair.
  • Willing to travel as needed to support operation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in engineering operations
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in engineering operations
  • A/P License
