Unit: CSEA Current Vacancies: 1 Current Hours/ Work Year: 8 Hours per day / 12 Months Salary Range 131: Step A $31.13, Step B $32.71, Step C $34.37, Step D $36.11, Step E $37.93, Step F $39.85 Promotional /Open: The promotional group as well as the general public may apply. IDEAL CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for the Benefits Technician position is a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in employee benefits administration, enrollment processes, and record-keeping. They possess practical experience with payroll, benefits programs, and Workers’ Compensation, and are skilled in interpreting and explaining policies, laws, regulations, and procedures to employees and retirees. A strong candidate is committed to delivering exceptional customer service, conducting benefits orientations, supporting open enrollment activities, and assisting employees with claims and forms. Experience in a school district or public sector environment is preferred, along with the ability to work collaboratively, meet deadlines, and uphold the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive employee information.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and two years payroll, employee benefits or related experience. SELECTION & EXAMINATIONS: The selection process will consist of competitive application screening for completeness and minimum qualifications. A written performance exam (weighted 20%) and an oral interview exam (weighted 80%) will be conducted. A passing score must be achieved on each portion of the exams. Final selection will be made from those who achieve the three highest ranking scores. Required along with your application:
