General Tasks
- Maintain linen and supply inventory, including par levels in procedure rooms.
- Follow infection control protocols and standard precautions.
- Be aware of exposure risks (e.g., body fluids, disinfectants).
- Disinfect carts and equipment between patients.
- Handle equipment properly to avoid damage.
- Ensure a safe environment by complying with AAAHC, Medicare, OSHA, HIPAA, state, and federal regulations.
- Uphold ethical, professional, and legal standards in patient care.
- Set up and assist with procedures.
- Verify equipment is appropriate and functional.
- Transport endoscopes safely.
- Collect and send specimens with correct documentation.
- Accurately document each procedure.
- Operate scope washers and perform manual cleaning.
- Leak test, brush, and disinfect scopes.
- Monitor and record chemical levels per policy.
- Maintain logs for safety checks, repairs, and filter/disinfectant changes.
- Report any damage to the supervisor.
- Take and record vital signs.
- Assist with patient check-in and escorting.
- Support data collection to assess patient needs.
- High School graduate required.
- Previous medical office experience is preferable.
- Previous experience with computers is required.
- Must possess knowledge of acceptable parameters of pulse oximetry and blood pressures, blood borne pathogens and aseptic techniques.
- BLS certification required.
- Must have sufficient strength to move carts and assist patients while walking.
