POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate Product Line Manager (PLM) plays a critical supporting role in the development, management, and execution of product strategies across the Implus brand portfolio. Working under the guidance of a Senior Product Line Manager, the Associate PLM contributes to the success of the product lifecycle, marketing initiatives, and go-to-market execution.
The Associate PLM supports the Senior PLM in ensuring product strategies are executed effectively and consistently. While the Senior PLM holds accountability for key business and product outcomes, the Associate PLM is responsible for contributing to and managing specific tasks and deliverables across product planning, development, and marketing. This position is hybrid with 1-2 days a week in the Carlsbad, CA office.
Essential Job Function:
Product Collection Development
- Assist in defining product objectives and performance metrics.
- Support market research and persona-based solution mapping.
- Help assess competitive advantage, lifecycle planning, and product-market fit.
- Draft product briefs, product requests and development requests.
- Participate in product forecasting and performance reviews.
Marketing & Go-to-Market Execution
- Contribute to product messaging, value propositions, and positioning statements.
- Assist in packaging development and asset approvals.
- Assist in building benefit ladders and pricing strategies.
- Help manage channel assortment, line lists, and database updates.
- Help develop sell-in decks, key stories, and training materials for internal and retail teams.
Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Clear, demonstrated understanding of consumer products
- High intermediate demonstrated skills in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel, Power BI l in addition to other Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Must be able to balance working on several projects at one time
- Professional and proactive work ethic with a desire to grow professionally
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience in product management, marketing, or brand development.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative and proactive work style.
- Experience in consumer packaged goods or retail.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management and Go-to-Market processes.
- Exposure to market research and competitive analysis.
- Understanding of retail math and basic financial principles.
Education & Experience:
A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field of study. A combination of education & experience will be considered.
Relevant Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
- Observe/Identify: The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Hearing: Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, customers and vendors.
- Operate: Write, type and use the telephone, copier, and computer systems.
- Stationary position: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50- 75% of the time.
- Mobility: Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, attend meetings, etc.
- Communicate: Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Move/Transport: Ability to occasionally move boxes weighing up to 25 lbs. across office for various needs with or without accommodations
- Exposed: Standard climate-controlled office setting
