Job Title: Billing Specialist - Radiology
Salary: $25-$28 per hour DOE
Location: Tustin, CA

Position Purpose: The Medical Billing Specialist with Radiology experience (requires) is responsible for accurately and efficiently billing healthcare services provided by Medi-Cal, private insurance patients, Self-pay, and sliding fee. The expected number of claims processed from A to Z per day is 100+, depending on the complexity of the cases.

Position Purpose: The Medical Billing Specialist with Radiology experience (requires) is responsible for accurately and efficiently billing healthcare services provided by Medi-Cal, private insurance patients, Self-pay, and sliding fee. The expected number of claims processed from A to Z per day is 100+, depending on the complexity of the cases.
Core Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Performance:
- Process 100+ claims per day (average).
- Finish assigned projects within allocated timeframe.
- All other duties assigned within scope.
- Billing and Coding:
- Generate and submit accurate claims to insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, and before timely filing.
- Review claims, including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for services provided.
- Adept at utilizing clearing house to review rejections and denials.
- Processing ERAs for corrections and resubmissions.
- Payment Posting and Reconciliation:
- Post payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts as needed.
- Accounts Receivable Management:
- Monitor and follow up on unpaid claims and outstanding balances with payers.
- Identify and resolve billing issues and disputes in a timely manner.
- Customer Service:
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing issues, insurance coverage, and payment options.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as patient services, medical records, etc. to resolve billing-related issues.
Education, Qualifications, And Experience
- Associate’s degree in healthcare administration, Medical Billing, Radiology, or a related field preferred.
- Must have 3 years of billing experience working with IPA insurance and be familiar with their guidelines (Radiology experience is required).
- Basic understanding of Excel is required.
- Strong computer skills, acute attention to detail, and professional communication.
- Responsiveness to the needs of both internal/external in a professional and personable manner is expected.
