Job Opportunity: Urgent Care Physician (MD/DO)

Location: Manteca Medical Office Building (Not located in the Emergency Department)

Hours Of Operation

  • Monday–Friday: 11:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays: 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
  • Weekend and holiday rotations are included in the normal shift schedule.

Position Summary

Board-Certified Physician in Emergency Medicine and/or Family Medicine. Physicians must be board certified to treat pediatric patients. This role provides immediate medical care for a wide range of non-life-threatening conditions across pediatric (above 2 months of age) and adult populations, while recognizing when higher-level or emergency department care is needed.

The Urgent Care Physician will work collaboratively with advanced practice providers (APPs), supervise their care, and support their clinical development.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior Urgent Care or Emergency Room experience.
  • Comfort with a fast-paced environment, team-based care delivery, and acute patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat acute medical conditions and minor injuries efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide hands-on care in the following areas:
    • Minor Injury Clinic Services: fracture/dislocation care, splinting, laceration repair (including pediatric techniques), incision and drainage procedures, foreign body removal.
    • Eye Care: slit lamp exams, foreign body removal, corneal abrasions, tonometry.
    • ENT/Dental Care: peritonsillar/gingival abscess, basic dental fractures/avulsions.
    • Dermatologic/Nail Care: ingrown toenail/fingernail removal, subungual hematoma, paronychia.
    • Reproductive Health: STI exams, pregnancy care (spotting, pelvic exams, basic ultrasound fetal assessment, confirmation of IUP).
    • Evaluation of Stable but Concerning Symptoms (“Vertical 3s”): abdominal pain, chest pain, headache, dizziness, CVA symptoms outside acute intervention window.
    • Therapeutics & Procedures: first-dose IV antibiotics, IV fluids, IV/IM medications, breathing treatments, reasonable observation periods, and stabilization of vitals.
  • Supervise and support APPs in all aspects of patient care.
  • Provide compassionate, efficient care to ensure timely treatment and positive patient experience.
