Job Summary
This position is responsible for planning, implementing and administering the delivery of integrated behavioral health care coordination to children in out of home care statewide. This position records, tracks and reports data related to care coordination and behavioral health service utilization. This position works with health care professionals, caregivers, clinic/hospital/specialty and community resources in a team approach to promote timely access to appropriate behavioral health services for CHP members.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Bachelor's degree or higher.
Pre-Employment Requirements
In-state travel is required. Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks; must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.). Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.
The ability to secure and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card; and the ability to secure and maintain clearance from the CPS Central Registry.
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements.

Job Duties
- Performs behavioral health care management, consultation, clinical advocacy and behavioral health system navigation to CHP members, caregivers, court officials and other DSC staff; provides technical assistance to CHP Program Administrators, Medical Directors, DCS field Management and Behavioral Health Provider staff; participates in the Child and Family Team process, when appropriate.
- Coordinates care with CHP Medical staff, Mercy Care or behavioral health providers regarding quality of care issues, treatment plan recommendations, or DCS CHP Mercy Care denials; works with other clinical staff to resolve issues; serves as a liaison between DCS and health plans during urgent or high profile matters. Enters notes in the Guardian system for any care coordination activities. Evaluate and complete CFT evaluations on a monthly basis to ensure fidelity of the Child and Family Team meeting process.
- Represents CHP in external meetings and activities with AHCCCS, AHCCCS contractors, Department of Health Services, Department of Economic Security, health care providers and other DCS divisions.
- Provides periodic training to DCS staff and stakeholders related to Behavioral Health System navigation; trauma informed care and the unique needs of the foster care population.
- When assigned by manager, participates/is available telephonically for brief periods beyond regular work hours, or on a rotational basis; handle incoming telephonic inquiries from members, providers, care givers and DCS staff during off hours. Respond to prior authorization requests by submitting to CHP leadership when appropriate.
- Participates on teams to identify and address systemic issues using the DCS Management System; participates with policy/procedure development and technical assistance tools.
- Other duties as assigned as related to the position.
