Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Automation & Scripting Intern with strong programming skills in Python and/or Perl, and exposure to web programming. This role involves building automation tools, optimizing workflows, and potentially developing lightweight web interfaces or dashboards for internal tools. A background in CMOS or semiconductor design is a plus but not required—strong programming fundamentals and problem-solving ability are essential. Responsibilities: Develop, test, and maintain automation scripts for engineering workflows Build or support simple web-based tools/dashboards for internal use Collaborate with engineers to identify and implement scripting or automation improvements Analyze, parse, and manipulate large datasets or logs using Python/Perl Write clear, maintainable documentation for all tools and code Assist in integrating tools into existing Linux-based environments
Responsibilities may be quite diverse of a nonexempt technical nature. U.S. experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks from school.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python and/or Perl Solid
- Understanding of scripting in a Linux environment
- Strong coding practices: modularity, version control (Git), debugging, etc.
- Familiarity with basic web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and web frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django, or equivalent)
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
