Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced **Accountant** to join our finance team. This role combines traditional accounting responsibilities with billing and project support functions. The ideal candidate will have at least **five years of experience** in **general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable** , along with strong analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
**Accounting Functions:**
Fairweather grants preference to qualified Doyon Shareholders first, and second to qualified shareholders of other Alaska Native corporations that grant a similar preference.

- Schedule:** Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced **Accountant** to join our finance team. This role combines traditional accounting responsibilities with billing and project support functions. The ideal candidate will have at least **five years of experience** in **general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable** , along with strong analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
**Accounting Functions:**
- Prepare and review general ledger and bank account reconciliations.
- Maintain, organize, and update financial records.
- Prepare, post, and review journal entries.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Support the development and improvement of accounting policies and procedures.
- Develop and manipulate complex Excel spreadsheets for reporting and analysis.
- Audit and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper coding.
- Provide rate validation and billing support based on contract terms.
- Maintain monthly profitability reports for multiple projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate billing and reporting.
- Create and submit invoices to customers.
- Review and record payments from customers.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum **5 years of experience** in general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with computerized accounting systems.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite.
- Project accounting or billing experience.
- Payroll and financial reporting experience.
- CPA certification is a plus.
- Office-based role with standard office equipment.
- Primarily sedentary with occasional filing and light lifting.
