Position Summary
The Film Production Coordinator supports the planning, logistics, and coordination of film, television, and media productions within the city. This role serves as a key point of contact between production companies, city agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure film projects run smoothly, comply with permitting requirements, and align with city policies and goals for economic and cultural development.
Coordinate film permit applications, schedules, and logistics across multiple city departments.
On or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in film, Communications, Media Production, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of experience in film production, event coordination, or media project management preferred.

Background Check
Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint screening and must be successfully completed.
Probation
All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a 6-month mandatory probation.

Position Summary
The Film Production Coordinator supports the planning, logistics, and coordination of film, television, and media productions within the city. This role serves as a key point of contact between production companies, city agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure film projects run smoothly, comply with permitting requirements, and align with city policies and goals for economic and cultural development.
Coordinate film permit applications, schedules, and logistics across multiple city departments.
- Serve as the primary liaison for production crews, location managers, and film companies.
- Support on-site coordination for major film and media productions, ensuring compliance with public safety and operational protocols.
- Assist in promoting the city as a film-friendly destination and maintaining positive relationships with production partners.
- Manage communication with residents, businesses, and community organizations affected by filming activities.
- Track production data, location usage, and economic impact metrics.
- Support the development of film-related programs, events, and workforce initiatives.
- Maintain a database of production resources, vendors, and local talent.
- Collaborate with city leadership to update and improve film permitting policies and procedures.
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the Film Office, including budgeting, reporting, and marketing tasks.

Knowledges, Skills, And Abilities
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Knowledge of film production processes, permitting, and city operations is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, when productions are active.
