What You'll Do
- Create detailed shop drawings and submittal packages using company CAD standards and templates.
- Maintain and update fabrication drawing packages throughout the project lifecycle.
- Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) based on estimated and field-verified conditions.
- Interpret architectural and structural drawings, RFIs, and specifications to ensure accuracy.
- Review and implement changes to project scope, supplemental instructions, and revisions as needed.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Field Supervisors to coordinate drawing and fabrication release timelines.
- Assist team members and leadership with workload balancing and coordination.
- Identify and resolve drawing or coordination issues proactively.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of detailing practices and standards.
- Stay current with industry trends and tools related to detailing.
- Intermediate proficiency in AutoCAD (2018 or newer).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook and Excel.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Basic understanding of construction knowledge and terminology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Associate degree in Drafting, Design, Architecture, or related field, or high school diploma/GED with formal drafting/design training.
- CNC programming or fabrication experience (preferred).
- Familiarity with 3D modeling and BIM software such as Revit or Navisworks (preferred).
- Experience using HiCAD (preferred).
- Prior experience with architectural metal or panel system detailing (preferred).
