Enterprise Network Engineer
vRad (Virtual Radiologic)

Summary:
The Enterprise Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting vRad’s network infrastructure. The engineer has a deep knowledge of networking technologies, protocols, and security best practices, and will be responsible for ensuring the high availability, performance, and security of enterprise-wide network systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and user experience.
- Implement and enforce network security protocols and access controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and ensure alignment with IT strategies.
- Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions with minimal business disruption.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, including topology diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Conduct root cause analysis for network-related incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging networking technologies and recommend enhancements as needed.
- Participate in the development and implementation of disaster recovery procedures
- Participate in weekly work and project planning
- Act as an extension of the security team and assist in their initiatives, projects and exercises
- Participate in an on-call rotation and have availability for additional support as needed remotely or on-premise
- The position is a hybrid role that requires on-premise work on an as needed basis, about one day a week on average under normal operating circumstances.

Core Qualifications/Education:
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a technology field (or equivalent work experience)
- 6+ years of experience in an enterprise environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Expert knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, DNS, DHCP)
- Hands-on experience w/Cisco equipment
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls
- VPN tunnel management with multi-vendor firewall and VPN devices
- Proficient in network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, NetFlow)
- Experience with HW and DNS load balancing (F5, A10)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Capacity to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment and multitask on a regular basis with switching and competing priorities
- Extremely detail oriented with strong organizational skills

Job Classification:
Moderate- Exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly. Activities will involve racking/moving data center equipment.
