What You Will Be Doing

Your role as a Reading Tutor at Alpha School goes beyond traditional teaching. You'll be at the forefront of educational innovation, where your expertise meets cutting-edge technology:

• Orchestrate dynamic, research-based reading workshops that make phonics, comprehension, and fluency come alive for young learners
• Create engaging, gamified learning journeys that celebrate each student's progress and maintain their motivation
• Transform raw data into educational gold by analyzing student performance metrics to optimize learning pathways
• Partner with our tech team to shape the future of AI-powered literacy tools, providing crucial classroom insights

The Ideal Candidate Will Bring

• A bachelor's degree complemented by specialized reading instruction certification (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or comparable methodologies)
• Proven track record of at least 2 years successfully conducting small-group reading interventions with early elementary learners
• Natural talent for reading assessment, strategic student grouping, and creating customized learning plans without relying on pre-packaged curricula
• Comfort and competence with AI-powered learning platforms and the ability to respond effectively to student interactions within these systems
• Current legal authorization to work in the United States (we cannot provide sponsorship)
• Commitment to working on-site at one of our dynamic campus locations in Tampa, FL; Austin, TX; Plano, TX; or Dorado, Puerto Rico

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
