What You'll Do

Location: Philadelphia, PA
What You'll Do
- Run experiments on HIV & SIV evolution and biology
- Support isolation and characterization of HIV-1 and related SHIV chimeras
- Plans & conducts basic experiments to meet project objectives (with close supervision)
- Assists in laboratory experiments and clinical studies for formulation and development
- Manage lab tools, documentation, processes for regulatory compliance and timely completion
- Collaborates closely with Senior Research Specialists and Principal Investigator (PI) in experimental/clinical work setups following established protocols
- Bachelor’s Degree with 0–1-year related experience in research/clinical study methodologies or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Cell Culture experience highly preferred
- Experience with:
- Single Genome Amplification
- General biochemical laboratory methods and analyses
- Next Generation Sequencing
- Molecular Biology techniques: DNA/RNA purification, PCR cloning, western blotting (daily use)
- Skills needed:
- DNA/RNA extraction, cloning, genetic characterization
- Implement & troubleshoot PCR protocols
- Next generation sequencing library preparation
- Western blotting
- Working Conditions: Office, Library, Computer Room; requires extensive safety
- Physical Effort: Typically sitting; occasional lifting 25 lbs. or less
