As an HR Generalist, you’ll join a collaborative, design-driven environment where curiosity, innovation, and care for people guide our work. This mid-level role offers the opportunity to directly shape our people experience across three Texas offices while helping evolve HR from administrative support to a true strategic partner.

This mid-level role offers the opportunity to directly shape our people experience across three Texas offices while helping evolve HR from administrative support to a true strategic partner.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the primary HR partner for our Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin offices, ensuring consistent, compliant, and people-focused support across all locations.
- Partner with Studio Directors to deliver thoughtful HR solutions in recruiting, employee relations, performance coaching, benefits, and professional development.
- Champion GFF Design’s people-first culture by leading engagement, retention, and recognition initiatives that strengthen connection and belonging.
- Partner with Studio Directors to recruit Architects and Designers, identifying, engaging, and hiring creative talent who embody GFF’s culture and commitment to design excellence.
- Lead and grow GFF’s College Internship Program, building relationships with top architecture schools, managing recruitment and onboarding, and creating a structured, high-impact learning experience for interns.
- Advise leaders on employment law, policies, and compliance to ensure alignment with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with firm leadership on strategic HR initiatives such as benefits strategy, compensation planning, and talent development programs.
- Help advance HR’s role from administrative to strategic by aligning people initiatives with firm goals, enhancing development, and fostering a culture of performance and growth.
- Continuously assess HR systems and processes to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and elevate the employee experience.
- Use data, metrics, and employee feedback to identify opportunities, drive solutions, and strengthen the firm’s overall workplace culture.
- Be a key contributor: Shape HR initiatives that align with GFF’s mission of creating memorable places through exceptional design.

- Gain diverse experience: Work across multiple studios in a fast-paced, design-focused environment where no two days are the same.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within a professional services or creative firm.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
- Solid understanding of federal and multi-state employment laws.
- Proficiency with HRIS, Microsoft Office, and time/leave management systems (experience with Rippling or Unanet is a plus).
- Excellent interpersonal skills—approachable, collaborative, and trusted by employees at all levels.
- A growth mindset, curiosity, and genuine enthusiasm for improving processes and developing people.
- Experience in architecture, engineering, or construction industries is strongly preferred.
