We’re seeking a Public Affairs Manager to lead bold, creative, and impactful communication efforts that elevate our global reputation and build trust in the almond industry. This role offers the opportunity to manage high-visibility initiatives, serve as a trusted spokesperson, and collaborate with top leaders across the organization. This is a full-time exempt position based at our headquarters in Modesto, CA with a hybrid work schedule.

What You’ll Do

  • Craft and drive strategic communications plans that advance our mission and global positioning.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with media, influencers, and stakeholders across industries.
  • Act as a key media spokesperson, managing press interviews, organizing briefings, and putting our best voice forward.
  • Manage USDA reviews and approvals while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
  • Support CEO in communication needs and briefings prior to public speaking opportunities.
  • Be ready to lead during challenging moments driving smart, steady crisis and reputation management strategies with confidence and agility.
  • Manage PR agencies and coordinate across departments to ensure clear, consistent messaging.
  • Create content that connects from press releases, speeches, social media, and more.

What You Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or related field.
  • 5 - 7+ years of proven success in public affairs, PR, or government relations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills – you connect easily, listen deeply, and inspire trust
  • Top-notch writing, presentation, and media relation skills
  • Deep knowledge of media operations, public relations strategies, and AP Style.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience in agriculture, food, or sustainability is a plus.
