Primary Purpose
Coordinate, coach & manage the development, implementation, evaluation, and iteration of curriculum and professional development
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- Valid Texas teaching certificate in Early Childhood
- Master's Degree in Educational Administration or Curriculum, required
- 5 years of teaching experience
- 3 years of District level leadership experience
- T-TESS appraiser certification, preferred
- Extensive background and experience in curriculum development and planning
- Knowledge of and experience in Personalized/Blended Learning
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including skills in consensus building, listening, oral and written communication, mediation, organization, time management, and fiscal management
- The ability to apply honest, actionable, and timely feedback that results in improved performance
- Extensive professional development background and demonstrated proficiency in the design and delivery of professional development and the facilitation of adult learning
- Knowledge of TEKS, Pasadena ISD curriculum, and national standards
- Knowledge of computer hardware, educational software applications, MS Office and Google for Education applications
- Knowledge of technology available for use in instructional settings
- Customer centered, service oriented, supportive approach in working with content specialist, teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders
- Data driven and have the ability to collect, evaluate, and utilize data in meaningful ways
- Develop and maintain a strong, standards-based curriculum for all programs of study in the content area and maintain curriculum and assessment documents in the district curriculum management system.
- Conduct regularly scheduled campus walkthroughs and provide feedback to teachers and their campus and district leaders.
- Develop high quality, aligned district benchmark assessments and evaluate student performance data to make ongoing adjustments to curriculum and instructional practices.
- Manage the training, administration, and reporting for all state required assessments.
- Develop, plan, and deliver staff development consistent with district and content goals.
- Analyze student assessment data and feedback from staff to determine current and future professional learning needs and curriculum adjustments.
- Conduct collaborative team meetings for teachers, instructional coaches, and campus administrators regarding standards-based curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with teachers and leaders in order to coach teachers and their administrators how to monitor curriculum, instruction and assessment to inform decisions about how to improve student learning.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with state and local laws governing Pre-K eligibility by regularly reviewing enrollment practices and documentation procedures
- Ensure students who meet state and local Pre-K eligibility criteria are accurately identified and documented through thorough review and verification of enrollment records.
- Collaborate with the Communications Department to design and implement marketing strategies, including social media campaigns, to boost program visibility and enrollment.
- Ensure accurate annual PEIMS reporting of all applicable data (assessment data and eligibility data) through a structured checks-and-balances system to maintain data integrity and compliance.
- Conduct an annual evaluation of the Pre-K program to assess effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and guide strategic planning.
- Partner with the Family Engagement Department to develop initiatives that enhance family involvement in early childhood education.
- Update and maintain internal forms and documentation to reflect current policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Monitor tuition payments and related processes to ensure accurate billing, timely collection, and adherence to district guidelines.
- Train and support attendance clerks by communicating district practices and expectations related to Pre-K attendance and enrollment procedures.
- Collaborate with the Student Services Department to ensure compliance with district-wide enrollment and registration processes.
- Collaborate with central office colleagues regarding vertical coherence of the content curriculum.
- Collaborate with central office colleagues regarding horizontal coherence of middle school curricula.
