The Child Care Navigator Specialist provides families with accurate information about the child care assistance program, early childhood development, and additional community-based resources.

This role serves as a primary point of contact for families, child care providers, and community partners, offering guidance and support throughout the application process. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Essential Functions:

  • Builds rapport and trust with families and child care providers by delivering high-quality, respectful, and professional customer service.
  • Provide comprehensive case management for families receiving child care scholarships, by maintaining accurate records, monitoring case statuses, and supporting families through changes in circumstances or program requirements.
  • Communicates with families regarding eligibility, required documentation, program policies, case actions, and complaint resolutions.
  • Provides clear and accurate information about child care assistance programs, early childhood development, and relevant community resources.
  • Collects and tracks data to support program outcomes and reporting requirements for funders.
  • Accurately performs income calculations to determine family eligibility and cost of care.
  • Enters and maintains timely, accurate data in internal systems and databases, including financial aid platforms, as required.
  • Organizes and maintains complete, compliant customer files in accordance with documentation standards.
  • Responds promptly to customer needs and assists families in navigating the child care assistance process.
  • Reviews customer-submitted documents to determine eligibility within required timeframes.

Bachelors or better in Child Development or related field

Experience

Required

2 years: Experience supporting families

Preferred

2 years: Case management experience, customer service experience, experience working within a non-profit, experience administering benefits.
