Position Overview

Phronetik is seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead and oversee HR functions, ensuring the organization attracts, develops, and retains top talent. This role will focus on employee engagement, compliance, talent management, and HR operations while aligning HR strategies with business objectives. The position is remote, with a preference for candidates in the Eastern or Central Standard Time (EST or CST) zone.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

• Oversee full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning to meet business needs.
• Develop strategies to attract and retain a diverse and highly skilled workforce.
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure staffing aligns with company goals.
  
  

Employee Relations & Engagement

• Foster a positive and inclusive work culture through engagement initiatives and support programs.
• Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, conflict resolution, and performance management.
• Implement and oversee employee recognition and professional development programs.
  
  

HR Compliance & Policies

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including EEOC, FMLA, ADA, and HIPAA.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Maintain accurate employee records and oversee HR reporting.
  
  

Compensation, Benefits & Performance Management

• Manage compensation structures, benefits administration, and payroll oversight in collaboration with Financial Operations.
• Oversee performance appraisal processes and assist leadership in developing performance improvement plans.
• Provide guidance on salary benchmarking and market trends.
  
  

HR Operations & Technology

• Optimize HR technology and systems to improve efficiency and employee experience.
• Manage HR metrics, reporting, and analytics to support decision-making.
• Lead HR projects and initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  
  

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of HR management experience, preferably in a remote, Government Contracting, or healthcare/research environment.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with workforce planning and inclusion initiatives
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with HRIS, ATS, and performance management software (Paylocity, SAP Concur).
  
  

Travel Requirements

• This is a remote-first position, with infrequent travel as required to meet with internal and external stakeholders.
• Occasional travel may include attending conferences, collaborating with partners, visiting research sites, or engaging with regulatory agencies.
  
  

Work Environment

• The role primarily involves work in virtual environments, with occasional visits to laboratories, offices, or research sites as necessary.
• Flexibility to adapt to evolving program needs, organizational priorities, and federal compliance requirements.
  
  

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during virtual meetings, financial reviews, and program activities.
• Occasionally handle materials or documentation related to project management and financial operations.
