What You Will Be Doing

The Senior Director of Internal Controls and Process Improvements will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of internal control systems and process optimization initiatives across the organization. This role ensures compliance with key internal controls, enhances operational efficiency, and supports enterprise process improvements. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with deep expertise in control frameworks, process redesign, and cross-functional collaboration

Internal Controls

What you need to succeed:

  • Design, implement, and maintain the key internal controls and framework (e.g. like SOX controls).
  • Conduct control reviews to identify control gaps, effectiveness of existing controls and are controls working “as designed” across financial and operational processes.
  • Lead control testing activities and report results.
  • Continued development and monitoring of key control metrics and dashboards.

Process Improvements

  • Analyze existing workflows and identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and efficiency.
  • Lead cross-functional process improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
  • Develop and implement best practices across departments to reduce waste and improve quality.
  • Facilitate change management to support process adoption.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Partner with senior leadership to align control and process initiatives with strategic goals.
  • Mentor and develop a team of auditors or specialists in controls and process improvement.
  • Prepare and present executive-level reports on control effectiveness, risk exposure, and process performance.
