Senior CAD Designer

Location: Eden Prairie, MN | Hybrid | Remote

Schedule: Full-Time

Salary: $90,000 – $115,000 (based on experience)

We’re looking for a Senior CAD Designer – Civil 3D who brings both deep technical expertise and a collaborative spirit to help drive innovation in our civil design team. This role is ideal for an experienced designer ready to lead, mentor, and elevate drafting standards across multiple projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead setup of base files, plan sheet sets, corridors, alignments, profiles, and data shortcuts.
  • Create and manage Bill of Materials (BOMs) with minimal supervision, resolving technical challenges as they arise.
  • Support site grading design using advanced grading and optimization tools under engineering direction.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance EVS drafting templates and Civil 3D standards to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Provide CAD support for early-stage erosion and sediment control (E&SC) and SWPPP documentation.
  • Serve as a Civil 3D technical resource for the civil department, offering guidance and troubleshooting support.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure drafting consistency and alignment across projects.
  • Mentor CAD Designers I–III, providing training, feedback, and best practices for efficient workflows.

What You Bring

  • Associate degree in CAD technology or equivalent technical certification (Autodesk Civil 3D preferred).
  • Approximately 15 years of experience as a CAD Designer in civil, utility, or renewable energy projects.
  • Expert proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, including grading, corridors, and sheet set management.
  • Experience supporting erosion and sediment control and SWPPP drafting tasks.
  • Familiarity with EVS file organization, templates, and drawing standards.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, organized approach to problem-solving.
