Description

The Order Selector is responsible for accurately reviewing and selecting the correct items from warehouse shelves to fulfill customer orders. This role also involves staging orders for delivery, assisting with loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring inventory is replenished as needed to maintain efficient warehouse operations.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive, review, and pull orders according to product and quantity ensuring accuracy
  • Safely stack and organize picked orders on pallets in preparation for shipment
  • Load and unload trailers, check in products from receiving, and replenish inventory as needed

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the receiving team when necessary
  • Assist with paperwork in the absence of the Manager/Supervisor or Warehouse Clerk
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and promptly report any malfunctions or safety hazards

KNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | ABILITIES

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills are essential
  • Strong basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to bend and lift up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance
  • Ability to become certified in operating stand-up forklifts and pallet trucks
  • Proficient in operating stand-up/sit down forklifts and other warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and maintain high accuracy
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to interpret various forms of instructions, including written, oral, diagrams, and schedules
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with different teams and departments
  • Strong knowledge of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in reading and writing in English
  • Proven experience as an order selector, warehouse worker, or forklift operator
  • Experience in food or nutritional supplement manufacturing is highly preferred
  • Knowledge in quality assurance practices is a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems is a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Standing/Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
  • Lifting/Carrying: Frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs., with occasional lifting of heavier loads. Reaching: Ability to reach overhead and bend to pick items from shelves or pallets.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Capable of pushing or pulling pallets and carts, including using pallet jacks to move large or heavy items up to 900 lbs.
  • Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for grasping, handling, and operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other tools.
  • Climbing: Occasional need to climb ladders or use step stools to access higher shelves.
  • Repetitive Motion: Repetitive hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder motions are required for approximately 8 hours or more during the workday.
  • Heavy Lifting: Lifting and retrieving items ranging from 0–50 pounds without assistance; 50–100 pounds with assistance; and 100+ pounds with mechanical assistance.
  • Mental Focus: Must maintain sustained alertness and focus throughout the shift to ensure safe equipment operation and awareness of surroundings.
  • Alertness / Spatial Awareness: Requires strong spatial awareness and the ability to safely navigate confined or high-traffic areas using powered industrial equipment, while remaining alert to the presence of pedestrians, other forklifts, and vehicles operating in or around the facility.
