The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) provides coordination of the unit by interacting effectively, in person and by phone, with patients and families, staff and physicians. Understand appointment scheduling, computer skills, and medical terminology. Self-motivation, courtesy, and confidentiality are fundamental to the position. Shriners Spokane is looking for a full time Health Unit Coordinator to join our Inpatient team!

Schedule Full-time Days FTE 1.0, (in-person)

The pay range for this position is $18.91-$28.37/hourly. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.

  • Participates in positive and effective communications; demonstrates flexibility to change as required; promotes inter/intra department teamwork; works efficiently and demonstrates integrity
  • Processes, schedules and coordinates transportation of patients and orthotic devices
  • Receives, assesses, and routes telephone calls
  • Initiates, maintains, and disassembles charts for in-house patients
  • Encounters registration, updating, quick/trauma admit and discharge
  • Consistently meets operational expectations related to attendance, punctuality, meeting attendance, compliance with deadlines, staying current with posted and email communications, etc

Required

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)


Preferred

  • Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) certification
  • Experience in a health-care setting and medical terminology
  • Previous HUC experience
