The Installation/Agile Finance Analyst manages Field Action Requests (FARs) for battery manufacturing equipment installations, ensuring financial control over unexpected costs. This involves collaborating with internal and external partners to document FARs, track costs, and present project financials to management. The role also supports the North American Battery Product Development Finance team with various ad hoc financial analyses and is a hybrid position based in Dearborn, MI.
As the Installation/Agile Finance Analyst, you will oversee and manage the Field Action Requests (FARs) over the installation of battery manufacturing equipment. This critical responsibility ensures financial controls over unexpected costs of equipment installation. You will collaborate closely with internal and external partners daily in to develop comprehensive and precise documentation of FARs. You will be responsible for tracking all costs as well as assisting in the preparation and presentation of project costs to upper management.
This role plays a key role in maintaining financial transparency and control within the organization and with our business partners. In addition, the Installation/Agile Finance analyst will be tasked with supporting the larger North American Battery Product Development Finance team with ad hoc assignments as capacity allows. Potential Agile assignments include business cases, IRR analysis, business plan support, make-buy analysis or modernization and efficiency projects.
This role is a hybrid work pattern based in Dearborn, MI. There may be occasional opportunities to travel to the installation site, but regular travel is not required.
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
Oversee and manage the FAR log to ensure accuracy and completeness
Employ critical thinking and meticulous analysis to assess each FAR comprehensively
Coordinate and lead meetings with engineers and leadership to ensure prompt approval of FARs
Collaborate closely with engineers to guarantee accurate and detailed descriptions of FARs and understand the physicals driving changes
Efficiently process FARs to meet tight deadlines, including following up with approvers to obtain approvals or escalating approvals as needed
Generate daily and weekly finance status reports and presentations for relevant stakeholders
Agile / ad-hoc assignments and reporting as needed
Proactively identify and execute initiatives to optimize operational efficiency
Qualifications
You'll have...
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, data analytics, or related field
2 + years of experience in finance (experience in product development a plus)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Powerpoint
Strong analytical skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Master's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, data science, data analytics, or related field
Experience with data preparation and blending tools (Alteryx / Power Tools)
