Description
The Manager of Information Systems leads the strategic planning, optimization, and daily operations of TVHC’s Epic OCHIN system, ensuring it effectively supports high-quality patient care, efficient workflows, and organizational priorities. This position provides direct leadership to the Epic Support Analyst (ESA) team and indirect oversight of the IT Helpdesk, fostering collaboration across clinical, operational, and technical teams.
Acting as a key liaison between TVHC leadership, end users, and Epic OCHIN, the Manager drives system enhancements, reporting and analytics, training, and change management initiatives. The role ensures all Epic-related projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and security standards.
Oversees: Epic Support Analyst (ESA) team
Dotted-Line Oversight: IT Support Technician
Schedule: This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday hours.

System Strategy and Optimization
- Lead the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of Epic OCHIN to align with organizational priorities.
- Manage Epic upgrades, patches, go-lives, and integrations, including proactive planning, testing, workflow adjustments, and post-go-live monitoring.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance system performance.
- Oversee development of reports and dashboards that ensure accuracy, integrity, and meaningful use of data.
- Stay current with Epic updates, OCHIN network initiatives, and healthcare IT trends to inform system planning and innovation.
- Provide clear direction, mentorship, and professional development.
- Support onboarding, training, and knowledge sharing to strengthen Epic user competence and consistency across departments.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex Epic issues, facilitating timely and effective resolution.
- Ensure adherence to standards, change control processes, and compliance with privacy and security requirements.
- Serve as TVHC’s primary liaison with Epic OCHIN, maintaining a strong and productive partnership.
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, and financial leaders to align system functions with organizational needs.
- Partner with Quality and Operations teams to support data accuracy and performance improvement efforts.
- Represent TVHC in OCHIN user groups and consortium meetings to share best practices and advocate for system enhancements.
- Work closely with the IT Manager to align system, hardware, and infrastructure needs that support Epic functionality.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Certification in EPIC Ambulatory required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with Epic Ambulatory required.
- Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience, including managing projects, teams, or key initiatives.
- Ability to travel to multiple sites and work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
- Demonstrated expertise in Epic OCHIN and knowledge of best practices.
- Proven ability to manage projects and ensure high-quality, on-time delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with creativity and technical aptitude.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and with minimal supervision.
