Position: Parking Ambassador
Location: White Plains Hospital
Hourly Pay: $17

Greet and direct patients, visitors and vendors in a warm, welcoming professional manner. The Care Concierge will assist patients as they navigate the building as well as facilitate patient navigation to various individuals and services as part of the interdisciplinary care team. They will have responsibility for the overall effective, friendly, and efficient functioning of the daily operations in the lobby/reception area. Will participate in improvement initiatives with the ultimate goal of exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

1. Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
2. Greets and directs patients, visitors, vendors and staff in a warm, upbeat, friendly, professional manner.
3. Assists and coordinates patient/visitor needs with others on the interdisciplinary care team.
4. Evaluates ongoing situations, keeps Security and Department Director and Manager informed of issues.
5. Coordinates volunteer help to support overall patient reception and flow throughout the building.
6. Oversees volunteer scheduling and maintains positive work interactions with all staff and volunteers.
7. Accesses accurate patient and procedural information utilizing various technology modes.
8. Answers phone.
9. Follows appropriate lobby procedures/processes-e.g. visitation policy, medical records requests, redirection to ED.
10. Assists in performing temperature checks to those entering building.
11. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

1. High School diploma required, college preferred; must be able to read and write English.
2. Proficient computer skills –including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and strong aptitude for learning new software systems (e.g. Readiness Rounds, Epic).
3. Previous customer service experience interacting with diverse public required.
4. Bilingual- Spanish- highly preferred.
5. Mandatory in-service training as needed.

  • May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.
