We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone beginning their career in public accounting or with up to 2 years of tax experience. The role offers exposure to a wide range of clients including closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals, providing an excellent foundation for career development in tax.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team. Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing federal and state tax returns for small to medium-sized businesses (Forms 1065 and 1120S), including multi-state filings
- Import and reconcile client trial balances into tax preparation software
- Support the review process by checking trial balances for accuracy and assisting in identifying timing differences
- Prepare individual income tax returns (Form 1040), including those involving multiple K-1s and multi-state filings
- Conduct basic tax research on federal, state, and local tax matters
- Communicate with clients to gather tax documents and clarify information
- Stay current on changes in tax laws and compliance requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
- 0–2 years of experience in public accounting or tax (internships accepted)
- Familiarity with common IRS forms such as 1065, 1120S, and 1040
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with tax preparation software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Multi-lingual a plus (Portuguese, Italian and/or Spanish preferred based on demographics and client list).
- Exposure to multi-state or composite tax filings
- Interest in continued learning and professional growth
