Job Summary

This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Essential Functions
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on fleet vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify and address any potential safety concerns or maintenance needs.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and diagnose vehicle problems accurately.
- Perform repairs and replacements of faulty parts and components, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and labor hours worked.
- Assist in the preparation of vehicles for county and state inspections, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with the Fleet Manager and other team members to prioritize and schedule repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Keep the work area clean and organized, following safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
- Stay updated on new technologies and advancements in vehicle mechanics through training and professional development opportunities.
- Reviews paperwork for accuracy and correct process.
- Must participate in scheduled and unscheduled onsite compliance audits.
- Implements corrective/preventive measures as determined by the Corporate Compliance/Audit Committee.
- Cooperates with Internal Audit, Compliance and Dispatch Operations on any recommendations and changes to compliance and legal workflow issues.
- Takes swift and immediate action in accordance with Internal Audit and Corporate Compliance on any areas of concern.
- Complies and enforces all policies and procedures.
- Has successfully completed all required Compliance Training within the required time.
- Has had no compliance-related corrective action during the current review period.
- Participate in Safety and Risk training and activities.
- Serves as a company representative promoting positive customer relationships through proactive involvement in public business and community activities.

- Proven experience as a vehicle mechanic, preferably working with ambulances or similar emergency vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools and equipment used for vehicle repair and maintenance.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics to perform repairs and replacements accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks that may require bending, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- ASE Certification required (or the ability to obtain within 12 Months of Hire)
- Current California Driver's license with an approved driving record.
