Job Description

Main/Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Works closely with Production, Maintenance and Quality to assess process performance (scrap/rework, quality etc), equipment performance and initiate actions to address immediate issues. Analyze performance history and develop improvement plans and initiate actions to achieve improvements. Drive activities concerning customer complaint reduction and related corrective/preventive actions. Product design and qualification based on new process techniques or new raw material suppliers, etc.
  • Machine and process design for new and existing product lines.
  • Project management (justification, design, implementation) Manage assigned capital projects, including qualification and selection of vendors and contractors, supervision of work, and approval of payments for invoices.
  • Training and documentation (ISO Documentation, etc) on new processes as well as updates to current processes.
  • Support in other areas, as necessary including new program implementation (FEA, etc)
  • Lead capital projects that enhance the efficiency, productivity, and safety of the production department

Work Related Experience, Skills, AND Training

  • 5-7 years of experience in process engineering or plastics
  • Excellent communication both written and verbal as well as experience making presentations
  • Good interpersonal skills - Team Player
  • Good mechanical aptitude including blueprint reading experience and basic understanding of Industrial equipment.
  • Organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
  • Proven decision-making skills to include problem identification, analysis and resolution.
  • Proven Leadership skills.
  • Process knowledge in the areas of polymeric extrusion or compression molding
  • Knowledge/proficiency with AutoCAD/SolidWorks desired.
  • Knowledge/proficiency with SCADA systems desired.
  • Deep knowledge of SPC, Design of Experiments, Root Cause Analysis and other problem solving tools

The salary range for this position is $70,000-90,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
