Compensation: $16.50-$18.50/Hour DOE

Hours: 11am-7pm (hours may vary depending on need)

General Statement of Responsibilities:

The Dishwasher plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment. This position is responsible for ensuring all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized in accordance with health and safety standards. The Dishwasher also assists with basic food preparation, trash removal, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen and dining areas to support an excellent dining experience for residents and guests of Lantern Crest Senior Living.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dish washing machines or by hand as required.
  • Ensures all cleaned items are properly sanitized, dried, and stored in designated areas.
  • Keeps dish washing area clean, organized, and free of hazards, maintaining compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Assists in cleaning kitchen equipment, floors, counters, and storage areas at the end of each shift.
  • Empties trash and recyclables and ensures proper waste disposal following community and state regulations.
  • Monitors and restocks cleaning supplies as needed and reports low inventory to supervisor.
  • Assists with food preparation duties as assigned by the Cook or Dining Services Director.
  • Follows all infection control and sanitation procedures, including proper use of PPE and handwashing techniques.
  • Adheres to all Lantern Crest Senior Living policies and procedures, including safety and emergency guidelines.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and maintains professional communication with coworkers, residents, and guests.
  • Promote Teamwork through cooperative and respectful interactions with co-workers and other departments.
  • Maintain current knowledge of senior living, assisted living, and dementia-specific care through ongoing education.
  • Work a flexible schedule as needed to support events, tours, and community outreach.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Minimum, high school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in a kitchen or dishwashing role preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:

Food handlers certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Physical and Personal Requirements:

The Dishwasher works primarily in the kitchen area of the community and may be exposed to heat, steam, and cleaning chemicals. Work involves frequent interaction with dining and kitchen staff and occasional contact with residents and guests, ability to work in a warm, humid kitchen environment. Must be able to tolerate cleaning chemicals and kitchen noise levels. Sit or stand for long periods of time. Reach, bend, climb, stoop, lift up to 50 lbs. repetitive hand movement; use and view PC.

Compliance:

Each employee plays a key role in creating a compliance culture. Employees are expected to learn and comply with all Lantern Crest policies and procedures. One must have the ability to understand the implications and complexities of all compliance policies. Participation in all compliance training is mandatory and generally has a heightened awareness of policies and regulations that are specific to one’s department and position. All Lantern Crest employees are expected to report violations or suspected violations of compliance policies or regulations.

Other:

Applicants must successfully pass a pre-screening tuberculin skin test or x-ray and a urine drug screen test. Candidates will be required to undergo a physical to ensure health is adequate to perform all duties of the position. Applicants must complete application and authorization form, both must be submitted to Human Resources prior to the close date indicated. Applicants will be required to undergo a background check consisting of fingerprinting and criminal records check with DOJ and FBI, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
