CNC Turret Punch Operator – Day Shift

Location: Newport News, VA

Rates: $20–25/hr (based on experience)

Shift: 1st and 3rd Shift Available

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Turret Punch Operator to set up, program, and operate CNC turret punch press machinery for fabricating precision sheet metal parts. The operator will interpret blueprints, select appropriate tooling, conduct machine setup, perform in-process quality inspections, and ensure consistent, reliable machine operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up machines, including program loading, tool selection, and raw material loading
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspection of punches, dies, and forming tools
• Perform in-process quality checks using precision measurement tools
• Interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
• Maintain production records and inspection reports
• Collaborate with supervisors and other departments to meet production goals
• Organize and plan projects to meet production demands efficiently
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating CNC turret punch machinery
• Strong blueprint and technical drawing interpretation skills
• Knowledge of sheet metal materials (galvanized steel, aluminum, stainless)
• Proficient with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in mathematics, including geometry and trigonometry
• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks in varying temperatures
• Able to work in extreme heat and cold environments

• CAM/CAD software experience
• Forklift operation
