                            Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician Specialist works under minimal supervision to provide technical support to operations on a variety of tasks, including product problems, machine downtime recovery, fixture design, and quality evaluations. The technician would be the first line of defense in helping to resolve safety concerns, troubleshoot quality issues, and improve production efficiency. Additionally, it may also include review of workflows, routings, floor layouts, material handling, ERP issues, or machine utilization. Work may include repairing, maintenance, or designing production testers and fixtures.
Technical Competencies:
This position is working Full-Time, 40 hours per week, for approximately 12 months.

- Provides support to production and manufacturing engineers on a variety of tasks.
- Performs troubleshooting and continuous improvement involving designing, repairing, modifying, and testing of mechanical, electronic, or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, and production equipment.
- Assists in analyzing, planning, and executing experiments and gathers, maintains, formats, and compiles technical data.
- Aids in the analysis, planning, and implementation of manufacturing engineering process changes or engineering design changes to support plant operations.
- Proficient in reading and understanding engineering drawings and assembly instructions.
- Maintains and develops work instructions and process controls to ensure equipment is performing to design specifications.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- ERP knowledge should include the Method of Manufacturing, Bill of Materials, BAQ, Job management, and Inventory Management.
- Review ECN’s (Engineering Change Notices) and update jobs and material usage as required.
- Supports technical support representatives by providing cost estimates and master routers for new items.
- Works with department managers to keep ISO procedures current. Follow up on internal audit schedules and results. Maintains all documents related to ISO 9001:2015.
- Conduct time studies to validate product labor costs.
-  Work hands-on with assemblers and engineers to streamline builds and solve problems in real time. 
Technical Competencies:
- AA/AS degree or equivalent education preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience as a manufacturing engineering technician.
- Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Proficient with ERP/MES systems.
- Some travel may be required both by automobile and airplane.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and independently.
-  Knowledge of SQL, VBA, Arena programming is a plus. 
- Lift up to 40 lbs.
-  Flexible to work on 1 st or 2 nd shift, and weekends.
