Chief Operating Officer - Residential Construction

Our Client is hiring a Chief Operating Officer lead operations and help scale our growing company. This role requires residential construction expertise, operational leadership, and the ability to build strong teams.

We are a Sugar Grovebased general contractor serving Naperville, Aurora, and the surrounding areas. Our work spans custom homes, remodeling, and outdoor living spaces, and we are known for craftsmanship, dependability, and clear communication.

As COO, you will oversee day-to-day operations with a focus on project oversight, staff leadership, and business growth. You will work closely with ownership while managing project managers, field staff, and administrators. This is a senior leadership role with room to expand further.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all company operations, including construction, project management, and administrative workflows

Lead and support staff across project and office functions to ensure productivity and morale

Implement systems and processes that support scalable growth and efficient execution

Monitor budgets, timelines, and quality control across multiple projects

Analyze performance data and make informed decisions to improve efficiency

Collaborate with ownership on business development and long-term planning

Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulations, and internal standards

Represent the company with professionalism in both client-facing and internal settings

Qualifications

4 to 7 years of leadership experience in residential construction or construction management

Proven experience overseeing field teams, operations, and multiple concurrent projects

Strong understanding of project and business operations in the construction industry

Ability to create structure and processes that support scalable growth

Excellent communication, decision-making, and leadership skills

Proficiency in Google Suite and project management tools

A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required due to occasional travel between project sites
