Position Overview

The Junior Payroll Administrator will assist in the processing of payroll for Culture Partners workforce across multiple locations and projects. This is an excellent entry-to-mid-level opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in payroll and HR administration within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and processing weekly or biweekly payrolls in accordance with company policies and federal/state laws.
  • Review employee timesheets, verify job codes, and ensure hours are entered accurately.
  • Support the maintenance of employee payroll records, including new hires, rate changes, and terminations.
  • Help process deductions, garnishments, and benefits contributions.
  • Provide basic payroll reports and data to management as requested.
  • Collaborate with HR and Accounting to resolve payroll discrepancies or employee questions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all payroll-related data.
  • Assist in certified payroll reporting and compliance (training provided).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience in payroll, accounting, or HR support (construction experience a plus).
  • Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP, Paycom, or similar software.
  • Basic understanding of payroll principles and labor laws.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data entry accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn construction-specific payroll compliance (prevailing wage, certified payroll, etc.).
