Essential Functions:
- Outreach and recruitment of participants for Family Resource Center activities, including efforts for minimizing attrition.
- Establishes and maintains a trusting and professional working relationship with families by providing regular contact.
- Administer intake, assessments, and screening tools to clients and family members.
- Assessing family needs and referring to community resources as needed.
- Scheduling and planning family activities.
- With approval of the Lead Resource Navigator purchases basic needs/incentives for families as required.
- Serve as liaison for family to community resources.
- Meets with Lead Resource Navigator on bi-weekly basis to evaluate status of families on caseload.
- Conduct systematic follow-ups for all families.
- Attend all required trainings and meetings.
- Develop together with Lead Resource Navigator and Resource Navigators updates, reminders, and program information on a quarterly basis.
- Work in conjunction with the Lead Resource Navigator and Resource Navigators.
- Use stated policies and procedures to report child abuse/neglect.
- Maintains familiarity and knowledge of community resources and uses these appropriately to meet needs of families.
- Conducts community outreach in educating parents, professionals, and others about the program and agency services, and child abuse awareness.
- Maintains confidential client files.
- Other job duties as assigned.
- Ability to establish rapport in order to maintain cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to carry out assigned tasks in an organized and timely fashion.
- Must maintain a clear criminal history check and report any incidents immediately to supervisor.
- Must be able to drive, provide and maintain valid Texas Driver’s License (Type C) and have access to reliable transportation.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to recognize the need for professional intervention, to be non-judgmental, to be motivated to learn from direct experience as well as from training and supervision.
- Possesses good judgment and reflects professional demeanor at all times.
- Must maintain agency telephone or other reliable means of communication so co-workers can be accessed in case of urgent needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in both English and Spanish is preferred.
