We’re looking for a Lead Controls Engineer who can seamlessly switch between hands-on service work and cutting-edge R&D projects. If you’re passionate about programming, troubleshooting, and driving automation forward, this is your chance to lead impactful projects and mentor others while working with the latest technologies.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the Way: Oversee design and development activities, ensuring project success and best practices.
- Program & Innovate: Modify and create PLC, HMI, Servo, and Industrial PC programs for high-speed packaging equipment.
- Solve Complex Problems: Assist field service teams remotely and on-site with troubleshooting and device configuration.
- Research & Develop: Dive into R&D projects—design schematics, write ground-up code, test, debug, and install.
- Collaborate & Mentor: Work with cross-functional teams and guide junior engineers.
- Travel & Adapt: Provide on-site support at customer locations (30–40% travel, occasionally up to 50%).
- Expertise in Rockwell, ProFace, Lenze, and familiarity with Siemens, Omron, B&R, Beckhoff.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming, Ethernet, DeviceNet, and robotics.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and update documentation using AutoCAD.
- Experience with structured text, C#, C++, and troubleshooting complex systems.
- Understanding of NFPA 70E, NEC, and standards like CSA/CE/UL508A.
- Hybrid flexibility with remote options based on performance.
- Work on high-impact projects that blend service and innovation.

- BS in Electrical/Controls/Mechanical/Software Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years in field service or equipment maintenance.
