What You Will Be Doing At Globalstar

As a Senior API/UI Software Engineer, you will designs develop, maintain, and troubleshoot software in association with the Operations API system. This position works with other team members to ensure requirements amongst subsystems are met, interface controls are adhered to and departmental deadlines and objectives are achieved.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python-based RESTful APIs using the OpenAPI specification.
• Develop Python-based tools for converting data of varying formats for use in API
• Design and develop internal web portals, dashboard software and monitoring systems for configuring and monitoring API status.
• Develop and maintain frameworks for building, unit testing and deployment of pertinent subsystems.
• Work with relational database schema definition and query design/optimization.
• Write specifications and requirements defining application functions, features, and goals.
• Maintain preexisting end user software and applications.
• Proactively troubleshoot/debug/resolve application and performance issues.
• Work within the established Globalstar Agile/Scrum development methodology using Atlassian products.
• Independently research architectural software issues and recommend solutions.
  
  

What You Will Bring To Globalstar

• Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science or related field (hard science)
• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer
• 5+ years of experience in the telecommunication industry
• 5+ years of experience Python, Flask, JavaScript, Linux, and Postgres
• 5+ years of experience developing REST APIs
• 3+ years of experience with Java and Shell Scripting, AWS, GIT, and BitBucket tools
• Familiarity with Web portal development
• Familiarity with CI/CD frameworks such as GIT, Bitbucket, and Jenkins
  
  

It’s a Bonus If You Have

• Master's or higher in Computer Science or related field (hard science)
• Satellite operations experience
