What are we looking for in a Director?

Reporting to the VP of Benton, Franklin and Walla Walla Counties, the Director provides strategic and operational leadership for the Triage/Crisis Relief Center and Crisis Stabilization facilities. These facilities are 24/7 in operation and serve both mental health and substance use conditions. This role oversees program managers and ensures effective management of all business, administrative, and clinical functions to support high-quality service delivery. The Director is responsible for comprehensive fiscal, administrative, clinical, and operational leadership across the assigned division and services. They are also responsible for collecting and reporting required data, participating in community meetings and may need to provide direction to staff on matters related to admission and discharge decisions.

Director Duties May Include

Employment Practices:

  • Effectively and legally interviews applicants and makes appropriate staff selections.
  • Follows policies and procedures for corrective action relating to staff performance.
  • Provides sound supervision to all direct reports which include appropriate and frequent performance feedback.
  • Supports employees in skill development and goal attainment.
  • Appropriately utilizes the Human Resources Department as needed and required
  • Provides direction, supervision, coaching, training and regular performance feedback to build employee skills and support progress toward goals.
  • Creates training and development plans to support new employees to be successful.
  • Completes performance evaluations in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Assists with the development of the team budget and monitors budget throughout the year.
  • Monitors program plan adherence to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Collaborates with the Human Resources Department on hiring, retention and corrective actions.
  • Communicates relevant matters to direct reports timely and effectively.
  • Initiates and maintains projects or programs consistent with policy.
  • Identifies opportunities for program improvement, growth, and long-term sustainability within the division. Develops and recommends strategies for consideration and leads in the implementation of approved programs and initiatives to strengthen service delivery and ensure organizational resilience.
  • Works collaboratively within a dyad leadership model to confirm that services meet or exceed accreditation, regulatory, contractual, and payor requirements, as well as internal agency standards. Develops and implements timely and appropriate Plans of Correction in response to identified deficiencies.
  • Ensures the quality of clinical service delivery through clinical interventions and by partnering with clinical leadership to support the application of evidence-based interventions and treatment protocols. Ensures outcome metrics are routinely reviewed, communicated, and tied to program improvement plans.
  • Participates in short- and long-term strategic planning for the agency, and participates in developing goals and objectives for division, programs and services to attain strategic goals.
  • Routinely reports to appropriate committees regarding status of strategic plans, issues and opportunities
  • Participates in the development of annual budgets and routinely monitors expenditures and revenues. Ensures organizational resources are allocated and utilized efficiently to maximize sustainability and impact across assigned services.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of clinical and administrative policies and procedures. Maintains current knowledge of applicable WAC and RCW requirements to ensure ongoing compliance and alignment with regulatory changes.
  • Gathers data and develops required reports applicable to leadership requests and service contracts. Ensures reports are delivered timely.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or related degree in Behavioral Health, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a closely related field.
  • Experience within the field of Behavioral Health is preferred. Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in healthcare or behavioral health operations, demonstrating strong business acumen, financial/budgeting oversight, and strategic program development.
  • Proven ability to manage diverse teams, optimize organizational performance, and implement effective systems to support quality care and operational efficiency.
  • Experience collaborating across disciplines and programs to meet the needs of varied client populations.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, vehicle liability insurance, and a minimum of three years of safe driving experience
