Optum Health Risk and Growth is looking for a Financial Consultant to join our team. This role involves supporting the financial modeling and analysis of our value-based care risk membership. Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance, the Financial Consultant will play a crucial role in driving the growth and performance evaluation of Optum's risk membership.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with regional finance teams to develop 5-year financial projection models that support the expansion of risk membership at Optum Health, resulting in improved financial performance and enhanced strategic decision-making
- Partner with regional finance teams to evaluate the financial performance of the current risk business, guiding decisions on product and geographic growth
- Analyze the financial impact of annual Medicare benefit decisions on Optum Health
- Assist in pulling together financial summaries for Optum and UHG leadership on topics relating to Optum Health risk membership
- Perform ad hoc financial analyses relating to risk membership, including impacts from quality changes, incentive programs, operating costs, benefit structures and rate negotiations
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of financial and/or accounting experience
- 3+ years of experience working in a matrix environment, building relationships, and partnering with business leaders
- 3+ years of experience anticipating accounting, financial reporting, forecasting and operational issues, assessing their implications and developing and implementing an appropriate action plan
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- 1+ years of experience developing multi-year financial models, including revenue, medical and SG&A projections
- Experience with Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling (creating graphs, pivot tables, VLOOKUP and charts)
