The S&OP Director will be responsible for leading and managing the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process across key business units, ensuring the alignment of supply and demand to support Neogen’s strategic goals. Reporting to the Vice President of Global Sourcing & Planning, this position plays a critical role in driving collaboration across Sales, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain to deliver accurate forecasting, optimized inventory, and effective capacity planning.

This role follows a hybrid working model from Southfield, Michigan, combining in-office and remote work. We offer flexibility in scheduling to accommodate individual needs while maintaining strong cross-functional collaboration.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate the regional and executive monthly S&OP process, driving alignment between commercial, planning, operations, and finance functions.
  • Translate strategic business objectives into actionable S&OP plans that guide supply chain execution.
  • Own the demand planning and supply balancing process, identifying risks, constraints, and opportunities.
  • Manage and develop an S&OP Analyst to ensure consistent process application across all business units.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements, tools, and reporting enhancements to improve forecasting accuracy and decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align supply chain capabilities with business needs.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs related to forecast accuracy, service level, inventory health, and capacity utilization.
  • Participate in scenario planning, business reviews, and budget forecasting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations throughout all planning activities.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or APICS/IBF certification preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in supply chain planning, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within S&OP.
  • Proven track record in implementing and improving S&OP processes in a complex, global organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in planning tools (e.g., SAP, Solomon, PBI, John Galt) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage change, drive collaboration, and deliver results within tight timelines.
