This position is responsible for picking up, sorting, and distributing U.S. Mail, interoffice mail, post-meter mail, and bulk mail bundles. This position is also responsible for maintaining inventory for general office supplies and providing maintenance for general office machinery.
Duties And Responsibilities

Duties And Responsibilities
- Performs City mail processing duties, including picking up City mail from the post office and City locations and sorting and transporting mail between City facilities
- Coordinates outgoing mail service deliveries with a variety of carriers and ensures outgoing mail complies with postal regulations
- Receives miscellaneous packages and materials in the warehouse; distributes and delivers as required
- Delivers and distributes office supplies to City staff
- Maintains records of materials and supplies used
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be forklift certified within 90 days of employment (City to provide training)
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Class C driver license
- Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, regulations, and City policies relating to mail services
- Knowledge of and ability to operate office and mailroom equipment
- Excellent customer service skills for both internal and external customers
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Ability to prioritize daily tasks and projects to consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with mail services team
- Ability to lift, drag, and push files, paper, and documents weighing more than 50 pounds
- Ability to safely drive a City vehicle to make deliveries
- Ability to safely operate a forklift
